Council Minutes December 5, 2017
Members present – Nancy Dreesen, Alecia Saenz, Gabby Guttierez, Raidel Cubeno, Billy Cox, Skip Knudsen, Tony Torres. Guest – Chris Lewis.
Meeting called to order by Pres. Nancy Dreesen at 7:35pm. Opening prayer was led by Alicia Saenz.
Minutes of 11/7 Council Meeting were unanimously approved.
Areumdaun Church proposal – Nancy read a response from Pastor Choi which offered $1500 per month rent. Discussion followed led by Chris Lewis. Suggestions for inclusion into new contract proposal by Council included: help with custodial support, a share of utility costs, and a statement that St. Mark’s has a priority on utilization of church facilities. Chris also stressed the need for a formal contract with Areumdaun Church based on a month to month calendar. Chris also suggested a $2000 counter offer to Areumdaun proposal.
Annual Church Meeting – Nancy stressed the need for all groups within the church to have a copy ready report of their activities for the year. These reports need to be submitted to the church office by January 7, 2018.
Discussion was held on the copier situation. Raidel reported that the support contract has been reduced to $356.64. This is an ongoing project. Raidel also reported that he is investigating the church’s ongoing costs with Cox Communications.
Gabby presented a financial report. Pledges have reached 187,000+ for the next year. Monthly offerings continue to rise a bit.
Billy Cox is the new contact for Police when the church alarm is triggered.
Meeting was adjourned with the Lord’s Prayer at 9:15.
