Council Meeting January 10, 2017

Members present- Iris Atkins, Pastor Ron Hovick, Dawn Andrews, Georgene Nightingale, David Perez, Nan Stufkosky, Paul Ford, Laura Ortiz, Tom Brosche, , Alicia Saenz, and Gabby Gutierrez.

Non Members present – Dorothy and Herbert Geier, Rosalyn Nelson, Diane Nissen Jean Armer, Carol Cartwright, George and Phyllis Stallard, Shirley Cox, Dolores Long.

The meeting was called to order at 7:00 P.M. by President Iris Atkins. Pastor Ron began the meeting with a prayer.

Herbert Geier read Council a letter given to him by Ann Larsen.  Ann’s letter questioned functions that were previously performed by the Operations Director.   This service can still be provided with notice to St. Mark’s Office.  A copy of Ann Larsen’s letter was provided to all Council members.

Paul Ford made a report that the Montessori School Project could occur in two phases to help manage costs. The Montessori School Project consists of ADA renovations including new wheel chair accessible doors, office space and new fencing. The project will not include new roofing. The first phase renovations will require approval of permits.   

The proposed Financial Budget brief for 2017 was given by Laura Ortiz. Council discussed and revised 2017 budget.  Motion to accept the revised 2017 budget was made by Paul Ford, seconded by Georgene Nightingale and approved by all.

Paul Ford reported Kylan Pownell was hired as part time custodian and that Erika Pownell was hired as Office Assistant. 

Pastor thanked the Council and ended meeting with prayer.

Council meeting was adjourned at 9:48 P.M.
