The meeting was called to order by President David Perez at 7:00PM. Pastor Ron opened with prayer.
The minutes of the 12/9/14 meeting were read and approved with corrections.
The financial report for November 2014 was given by Treasurer Laura Ortiz. A motion to accept the report was made by Pastor Ron, seconded by Dawn, approved by all.
The financial report for December 2014 was given by Treasurer Laura Ortiz. A motion to accept the report, with corrections, was made by Mike, seconded by Dawn, approved by all.
The 2015 Budget: Laura used the 2014 actuals to as the basis for the 2015 budget. The Council discussed increases and decreases that would affect the budget. It was decided to present the budget to the congregation on the Sunday before the Annual Meeting so that all may have the chance to review it.
A motion to accept the budget was made by Mike Collins, seconded by Nan, and passed by a vote of nine to one.
Pastor Ron read the Director of Operations Report. Brett Perkins is moving forward with the Verizon proposal. The final decision would be voted upon by the congregation. For the Charter School proposal, Brett said the next step is to prepare an Administrative Conditional Use Permit. He will begin preparing the permit, but will not submit it until the congregation votes to approve it.
\Endowment Committee: The Endowment Committee met on November 16, 2014 to review by-laws and establish written rules and regulations. The committee proposed that scholarship limits be restored to previous levels. They are “(1.) An annual scholarship of $2500 for confirmed and active members of St Marks Lutheran Church and have been accepted at a Lutheran College. (2.) One annual scholarship of $2500 for a member who is confirmed, and an active member of St Marks Lutheran Church, that has been accepted for graduate study leading to Lutheran Ministry. (3.) Annual scholarships of $1,000 for confirmed and active members of St Marks Lutheran Church who have been accepted by any Christian college.”
The Annual Meeting will be on Jan 25,2015.
