Meeting opened at 7:04 with introduction of guests. Pastor Ron then conducted a lesson based on Nehemiah chapter 4.

Moses Penemacka (Head of Emerging Ministries at seminary for 26 years and head of TEAM program) gave overview of the steps required for Alicia to earn her Certificate of Ordination. It will take several years and require a sponsor, mentor and several trips to Berkley to the seminary for classes. Total cost for program, including expenses is estimated at $20-25K. Heidi Hester (Assistant to the Bishop) pledged her support on behalf of the Pacifica Synod.

Financials: Kerri reports that our financial state remains roughly the same as it has throughout the spring and summer. Expenses are slightly below budget, but revenue is even lower than estimates. The result is year-to-date budget deficit of $21,700. She will continue to add updates to bulletins.

Spanish Ministry Fiesta: Alicia reports that they still need volunteers but the planning for the large September 14th event is on track. Mailers are being sent to nearby zip code.

Our Annual Strategic Review & Update will occur November 9th from 8:30-12:30 in Jacobsen Hall.  All congregational members can participate in two ways:  completing the all-church annual survey and/or volunteering to participate in the Annual Strategic Review on November 9.  In addition, Council will be selecting a specific group of members to take the third annual Natural Church Development survey.  These people will be selected according to the criteria developed by this international congregational program.

Brett will soon begin de-clutter and refresh campaign as we continue to strive for a clean, modern and inviting campus.

Budget preparation: It was decided that Treasurer and Director of Operations will lead formation of non-personnel section of budget which will then be passed on to Personnel Committee before being debated and voted on by Council.

Next Council meeting will take place September 18th.
