Minutes of Council Meeting, 9 August, 2016
Members present- Iris Atkins, Pastor Ron Hovick, Georgene Nightingale, Nan Stufkosky, Paul Ford, Bob Lechner, Alicia Saenz, Tom Brosche, Gabby Gutierrez
Members not Present- David Perez, Dawn Andrews, Stephanie Rodriguez
The meeting was called to order at 7:00 P.M. by President Iris Atkins. Pastor Ron began the meeting with a prayer.
Thrivent Financial Presentation was given by Chuck Etzweiler. Chuck covered various products Thrivent could offer. He discussed the ability for Thrivent members designate funds that Thrivent would donate for church projects on their behalf. Chuck would like to give a presentation to interested congregational members.
Financial Report was given by Laura Ortiz. Laura informed the Council that church spending continues to be higher than the income generated. Reserve funds could be used up by the end of the year if this trend continues. Motion to accept the Financial Report was made by Paul Ford, seconded by Pastor Ron Hovick and approved by all.
The minutes of the July Council meeting were read and amended. The motion to accept the minutes was made by Pastor Ron Hovick, seconded by Paul Ford and approved by all.
President, Iris Atkins invited all church members to AED training scheduled for 9/16/16: 10:30. Spanish language training session is planned date to be determined.
Paul Thomas discussed that he had delayed the Eagle Scout Project because of anticipated remodeling associated with the Safari School Project. Pastor Ron recommended that the scout project proceed.
Council meeting was adjourned at 8:27 P.M.
