The meeting was called to order by President David Perez at 7:15. Pastor Ron led with prayer.
The minutes of the March meeting were corrected and approved by all.
Treasures Report: Laura Ortiz explained that the Verizon payments don’t come monthly, but bi-monthly. This creates a temporary imbalance in the budget. Laura recommends dividing income and expenses into 1/12th increments to better see the monthly budget. Income is down by $16,000
year-to-date, but expenses are also down by $12,000.
Laura will do the audit for the Synod, St Marks will have an audit for years 2012 through 2014.
Motion to accept the financial report was made by Bob, seconded by David and approved by all.
The Upper Room is doing well. Starting May 1st, they will pay $450 a month and use Jacobson Hall.
at 11:30 am. We will move the coffee service to the bench area next to the Sanctuary.
The Council voted unanimously to move forward with the Charter School proposal. Pastor Ron said he would inform the congregation that the Council is looking further into the proposal. The Charter School will (potentially) open in the Fall 2016. To fulfill state requirements and have an office for prospective parents to visit they will need an address at St Marks. The Council approved the use of the “Sunday School Office” attached to Jacobson Hall.
Verizon: The current measure to buy out the 30 year contract for $280,000 was agreed by the Council for Bret to pursue.
Ladders: Due to concerns about the use of ladders, Council has decided to authorize the use of a 5 foot ladder only, and only with two persons present, and with approval of the office, when requested.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:20 PM.
