Visitors:   Krystina Torres, Treasurer; Dick Bolin, Legacy 

Meeting Purposes: 

·         Ensure smooth and effective functioning of St. Mark’s Church to serve God’s purposes

·         Monitor and refine the financial operations of St. Mark’s to ensure God’s mission is fulfilled

·         Build our capacity to lead and work as a team to guide St. Mark’s to fulfill God’s plan

·         Should be at 67% of budget to date, currently at 60% of budget.

·         Income is 5% below of where we want it to be for this time of the year

·         Utilities over budget due to hot August

·         Financial back on track with Building & Maintenance

7:15–7:25 Pastor Reports  

·         Project Hand will increase the amount they give to the Church to $175 to make up for high energy costs

·         10% on all giving will be tithed to the Synod, whereas before it was only on envelope givings

·         Rent increase for Areumdan Church to cover their increased energy expenditures

·         Legacy Committee will be invited by C. Lewis to help with the luncheon on the 30th of October 

·         All the food for God’s Work, Our Hands on September 11th was made within budget

·         During her internship, Pastor Alicia will be present at the church at least once a week

·         Day of the Dead altar in the parking lot on Wednesday the 2nd of November. Will be decorated and will have candles and pictures of the dearly departed along with bread and hot chocolate.

·         Patio Fencing & gates

·     Special meeting on the 16th of October to discuss fencing and security

 Discussion: 

·      Fencing and gates quoted at $35,060 by San Diego General Contractors. Will have a special meeting on the 16th of October where this will be voted on as the project costs over 5% of annual budget. $10,000 will be provided by the Hispanic Ministries Grant

·      SeaWorld trip planned for the kids in the near future

  ·         Security Training ·      Small video presentation for congregation along with a small speech in order to make the congregation more aware of safety and vulnerabilities Rob
  ·         Music ·      $2,340 raised from last concert series in September

·      Will create a designated fund for concert series to track the costs and income
