Meeting Purposes:
· Ensure smooth and effective functioning of St. Mark’s Church to serve God’s purposes
· Monitor and refine the financial operations of St. Mark’s to ensure God’s mission is fulfilled
· Build our capacity to lead and work as a team to guide St. Mark’s to fulfill God’s plan

Consent Agenda: Approve September Council Minutes. Motion: C. Lewis. Second: Pastor Karla. Approved.
· Financials for September will be approved later when data is available
· In the negative for September due to quarterly Synod Benevolence
· Need to ensure that increase in rent from LSS is being paid. PK checking.
· Propose to ask renters (Glory, Areundaum) for an 8% increase in rent for 2023. C. Lewis and S. Barker will write the contract.

· New member class at 10:00 AM on October 15th, with 10 new members joining the church.
· Day of the Dead altar in the parking lot on Wednesday the 2nd of November. Will be decorated and will have candles and pictures of the dearly departed along with bread and hot chocolate. Help needed for the event.
· Pastor Alicia’s internship plan has been approved and if all goes well ordination should be sometime next Summer or early in the Fall |

Discussion Items
· Special meeting on the 16th of October to discuss updates on the development of the surrounding property
· Draft budget proposal for Pastor’s Discretionary Fund in 2023. |
Discussion:
· Special meeting to be held on the 16th of October. The congregation will be informed of updates concerning the sale and development of the surrounding property. Congregation will then vote on whether or not to agree to a sale of 8 ft of the parking lot or decide to no longer work with the developers. S. Barker will create ballots.
· Draft budget proposal: Create line item underneath Evangelism & Fellowship titled Pastor’s Discretionary Funds with $2,000 in the fund. Evangelism & Fellowship total funds will be $2,500 for 2023.
