Hospitality committee minutes of 27 Feb 2007
Activities, plans and accomplishments:
Coordinate with existing caregivers ministry.
Disseminate results of Time and Talent sheets to appropriate ministry leaders.
Decided to meet monthly on the 4th Tuesday at 7PM in the conference room.
We read through "Hospitality Matters" from ELCA.org/evangelism web site.
We talked about who should have the lists of volunteers gleaned from the Time and Talent sheets.
We looked at a "welcome" folder and inserts and plan to use these in the near future to greet guests.
We noted that Hospitality is a part of what every committee does. So we need to coordinate and share information with all.
We looked at the proposed 2007 budget for evangelism. Our line items are $200 advertising, $500 church events and $250 evangelism.
We talked about how St Mark's can develop more visibility in the community, and how can St Mark's be more intentional and aware in our hospitality after visitors attend.
Assignment for March...Nancy asked that before the next meeting we try to look at St Mark's from a visitor's perspective, both facilities and members actions and greetings. Each time we come to a meeting, worshipo, or activity, note things we can see that need improving for visitors.
